We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Director of Information Technology to join our Corporate Team in our World headquarters location in Ottawa, Illinois.
The Director of Information Technology is the business leader for the IT group and has overall ownership for the group’s strategy, staffing, execution and delivery of results. We are seeking a proven leader. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. There is potential for the right candidate to move into a CIO position. Primary responsibilities include:
ü Provide IT vision, leadership and execution for developing and implementing business application architecture/infrastructure and IT solutions that improve our service, quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency within our Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 platform.
ü Ability to engage with and strategically manage a diverse user base with different business applications, technical skill levels and unique requirements in business areas such as: Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Distribution and Reverse Distribution.
ü Experience managing both internal resources as well as outsourced IT resources as business needs dictate.
ü Lead IT group to develop best practices in customer service to meet the needs of the entire user community and measure that performance to ensure continuous improvement.
ü Participate as an active member in all department strategic planning meetings to evolve IT to meet company’s strategic goals.
ü Sets the overall direction and oversees planning and implementation of all business information systems.
ü Researches and identifies technical innovation in IT to be blended into current business systems to enhance network functionality and keep the company competitive.
ü Leadership duties include performance management, establishing and maintaining appropriate reward and recognition systems, as well as recruiting, training, coaching, leadership development, and mentoring of department associates. Develops and establishes department goals and objectives as well as overseeing the execution of plans.
Required Skills:
ü Minimum 3 years experience as Director of Information Technology
ü Proactive leader with outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, ability to motivate people and manage resources effectively and work with business partners to achieve goals in aggressive timeframes
ü Solid understanding of manufacturing business processes
ü Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 experience a plus
Minimum Educational Requirements:
ü Bachelors Degree required, advanced degree preferred
Expected Travel Time:
ü About 25%. Must have ability to travel internationally
