Director, Human Resources

Our client has an outstanding opportunity for a strategic-minded Human Resource Professional to assume a role as a Director of Human Resources located in suburban Chicago.  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will have primary responsibility for planning and implementing key strategic human resource and organization initiatives that support a regional entity of three facilities and 250 employees. 

 

The focus of this role will be on building the HR function for our client.  With no current HR function at the Corporate level this person will be responsible for documenting all policies and procedures related to benefits, hiring practices, HR issues, and employee training and counseling.  The role will be charged with managing HR initiatives that have a direct impact on the strategic direction and performance of the organization they serve.  The selected individual will be in a position to clearly demonstrate the value-added nature that a well-run HR function has on an organization.  This position will have exposure to senior level executive management as well as regular contact with location management.Reporting Structure

This is an individual contributor’s role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.  This position will have responsibility for all aspects of human resources for their regional population with a dotted-line relationship with the GM’s located at each manufacturing facility.  Currently, these individuals handle the HR functions at their location. This role will manage all traditional Human Resource generalist functions as well as provide a strategic framework for the implementation of company-wide initiatives within the assigned region.

· Demonstrated experience in implementing corporate or division-wide change initiatives.

· A minimum of 7 years experience as a HR professional.

· BS/BA degree.

· Demonstrated experience in a consultation HR role as well as a training facilitator.

· Experience in both a multi-site environment

· Demonstrated ability to develop and retain strong relationships.
