Position Description:

Qualifications:
Responsibilities:• Manage the activity of the two Building Science Managers to maximize contribution to CertainTeed and establish a competitive position in the marketplace.• Drive innovation by integrating building science expertise into the new product development process.• Create and deliver the technical tools and knowledge necessary for the sales teams to effectively communicate product and system value propositions to the customers.• Develop maintain and foster a national and international network of professional contacts in the field of building science.• Develop measurement process for evaluating the contribution of building science activity as it relates to sales revenue for the product groups.• Establish solid training programs for both internal and external applications to deliver the value of CertainTeed Building Science services. • Identify futuristic building trends and deliver that information to the product groups to drive break-through and home-run innovations.• Establish initiatives through lobbying, code development, code enforcement and regulatory activity to deliver an advantage for CertainTeed products.• Chair the CertainTeed Innovation Council, Chair the Green Subcommittee for CertainTeed. Take leadership of the Symbiosis II project• Establish portfolio of quality cross-group (system) innovations that are unique to the building industry.• Identify opportunities for M & A activity that support innovation strategies and drive effort to have M & A opportunity commercialized. • Become the lead spokesperson for CertainTeed to internal and external audiences for Green and Sustainability issues.• Determine competitiveness of CertainTeed green and sustainability efforts and take quick action to close gaps where identified.• Participate in green industry events and identify opportunities for partnerships to establish a strong green position for CertainTeed. • Establish budgets, schedule, travel and external/internal communications for self and department members.• Provide timely feedback to Executive, Sales and Marketing leaders at CertainTeed regarding activity for Building Science, Innovation and Green and Sustainability. Requirements:Education – Bachelor degree, business, marketing or engineering preferred. Experience - 7 to 10 years of related experience preferably in the building materials industry with an in-depth knowledge of construction practices, product development processes and distribution channels. Solid analytical skills to enable the identification and quantification of opportunities. Computer skills with fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
