Responsibilities for Desktop Analyst
Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):
Individual contributor role as part of a team support for the technology community.
Desktop analyst is responsible for providing computing technical support to the desktop team and users on networked systems, including complex problem analysis, resolution and installation of hardware and software. Participate in the deployment, support and maintenance of equipment, applications and/or services as a member of a support team.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Tests S/W and/or H/W systems, components, tools and utilities required for the operation, support, maintenance and control of computer systems.
- Involved in the analysis and evaluation of computer hardware systems.
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Implements and defines processes to improve operational procedures.

- Support of ongoing operational systems
- Cross functional teams
Supervisor specifies and oversees work by providing objectives, instruction and guidance, leaving the incumbent an opportunity to determine the approach and methods of achieving the end result.

- Develops solutions to problems of limited scope.

Bachelor's degree required

3 - 5 years experience

-Respond to and resolve user problems with hardware, software and/or services for all desktop computing equipment
- Install and upgrade equipment and software
- Identify recurring issues, document and escalate to appropriate personnel
- Represent technical bridge between technology groups and business units
- Make recommendations for improvement in processes and procedures
- Follow existing processes and use standard methodologies to carry out assigned tasks
- May be required to maintain inventory supplies
- Participate on cross-technology teams
- Troubleshooting customer problems that are beyond the skill level of the Desktop Technician
- Act as an escalation point for desktop technicians
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Proficient in hardware system components, component and peripheral (printers, scanner, wireless handhelds) replacement
- Strong knowledge on use and architecture of client management systems; Remedy, Altiris, Dame ware, HP WebJet Admin
- Proficient in installation, navigation, and support of Microsoft Operating systems;
