JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design and lay out complex new products requiring considerable initiative and independent judgment. Assists drafting and engineering personnel with CAD related issues/problems.  Independently determines and develops approach to work and solutions. Assignments regularly require the use of mathematical formulas. Work is performed under only very general direction. May provide direction to others as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree plus additional college desirable.  Mechanical engineering/technical focus.

EXPERIENCE:

·  6+ years related experience in a drafting, design engineering environment. 

·  Demonstrated experience with rotating industrial equipment.

SKILLS:

·  Proficient with conventional/complex drafting techniques, terms and procedures, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.SM-1994.

·  Demonstrated skills in design.

·  Advanced UNIGRAPHICS and PC skills, including spreadsheets and databases.

·  Proficient in geometry, algebra, and trigonometry.

·  Advanced Mechanical aptitude-involved parts, fit, form, and function.

·  Ability to compose clear and concise drawing notes and assist with procedural documentation.

·  Ability to identify and analyze complex technical problems.
