We are currently seeking a Design Engineer who is an expert using SolidWorks.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Implement new product designs.  Reverse engineer current/pre-existing product designs.  Solidworks designer.  Responsible for prototype and test designs prior to production development.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Implement and design new products.

·  Re-design old products to improve manufacturing and decrease cost.

·  Prove and test design by fabricating prototypes by way of operating a mill, various saws, and a lathe, etc.

·  Layout many design scenarios with tolerance stack-ups.

·  Occasionally meet with vendors for finalization of tooling design, concepts and F/A’s.

·  Attend both formal and informal meetings.

·  Required to show both pros and cons of design before implementation.

·  ECN preparation

·  Maintain control of documents

·  Material research.

·  Track product design through all stages up to and through manufacturing

·  Prototype designs.

 REQUIRED SKILLS

 

·  Must have strong mathematical knowledge, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas; all varieties of precision measuring instruments, CNC equipment, multi-machine work stations, personal computer and computer software applications involving a thorough skills knowledge plus the application of basic theory.  Solid Works

·  Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

·  Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or complete accredited apprenticeship a minimum. Bachelors in engineering a plus.

·  Experience in the commercial refrigeration industry required. 

·  Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Explorer, SolidWorks, E-drawings, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and MS Project as well as proficiency with PowerPoint and Explorer is essential.
