Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations    Job Description  Tyco Valves & Controls is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial valves and controls products. Its companies manufacture fully integrated lines of superior quality products for every market it serves, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, power, and oil field industries. We are looking for a Demand Manager who will report to the Plant Manager in our Stafford, TX manufacturing facility. ORGANIZATION AND POSITION SUMMARY: The Demand Manager is responsible for directing the sales and operations planning process for the global production of U.S. and foreign originated knife-gate valves. This person provides an on-going planning horizon for all products including all demands on production facilities. The Demand Manager will develop and maintain an 18-month forecast; maintain continuous interaction with Sales, Marketing, and New Product Development; protect the financial performance of the strategic business unit by identifying potential supply chain issues; support initiatives like continuous improvement, SKU rationalization, and inventory right-sizing; track customer sales initiatives/promotions; and advise management of major variances in future forecasts. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in forecasting, demand planning, production planning, or sales operations. This person will have experience with high-volume, high-SKU count and business-to-business supply chains. This highly technical position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and the analytical, organizational, and communication skills necessary to effectively gather and evaluate information from multiple data sources. This person must be a forward and innovative thinker who is capable of learning on the fly and exhibits strong initiative to drive for results. Additionally, this individual must be able to think strategically and build relationships and business confidence across functions. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field; MBA is a plus; process improvement training (i.e. LEAN/6 Sigma) and APICS, CPIM, and/or CIRM certification preferred.
