DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES & POLICY

Position SpecificationSummary:  Manage, direct, and coordinate corporate effort to achieve and maintain consistent environmental compliance practices and application of policies throughout USS in all areas of environmental performance, including of ISO Certification and compliance audits.  Key Relationships:Reports to: General Manager, Environmental AffairsDirect Reports:  3Total Organization:  4Major Responsibilities: Responsible for tracking implementation of corrective actions in response to audit findings and develop new or revised procedures and practices to address systemic audit findings company-wide.  Facilitate reviews of regulatory issues that are critical to our industry and determine best practices for compliance.  Maximize use of problem-solving tools to identify root cause of compliance issues and development of permanent solutions.  Support other Environmental Affairs functions and the operations. Supervise direct reports.

Minimum Requirements: Minimum BS degree in engineering (preferably environmental, chemical, or civil) or related technical degree 15+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing (preferably in steel, metals, or allied industry) Ability to summarize complex analysis clearly and effectively through written documentation and/or presentations.
