Cycle Counter/Analyst
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: To complete the cycle counting process and analyze discrepancies to determine problem causes. Will be an active participant in the lean culture activities. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Conduct Physical Count: Physically counts or leads the count of each product and / or location as necessary to fulfill cycle count program requirements and other counts. Analyze All Discrepancies: Analyzes each discrepancy at the time of counting to identify root causes of errors and develops / recommends corrective actions. Research and defines all activities that could cause inaccurate inventories. Determines method of inventory correction. Update Inventory Records as Required: Enter data through the CRT and hand held RF Unit to update the inventory records in the computer. Generate cycle count through the JD Edwards Cycle Count Program. Generates and executes daily Schedules Leads / makes corrections of inventory errors Updates part locations. Conducts location audits Updates daily metrics Assists in the training of staff in the methods of cycle counting. Completes daily activities in a timely, legible and accurate fashion. Communicates to the areas or processes that need improvement. Completes other duties as assigned. Takes part in Lean activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting Up to 70 lbs. required. Sitting Frequency in use of a sit-down rider lift truck - high reach truck. Climbing May be required to check inventory. Full Use The job requires full range use of upper extremities in the manipulation of materials. Crouching and Required to move material. Communication Requires both written and verbal communication skills in communicating with others and receiving instruction. MACHINES AND TOOLS USED ON JOB: Forklift Telephone Scale CRT Two-Way Radio Printer Copy Machine Hand held RF Unit TRAINING / SKILLS REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D. Some college preferred. 5 to 10 years experience in distribution or inventory related field, preferred. Basic computer skills including excel and word. APICS Certification in Inventory Control, preferred. Forklift experience, preferred.
