Position

Credit/Collections Supervisor; located at the corporate office in St. Louis, MO

 

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Director of Credit, Collections and Accounts Receivable

 

Summary of ResponsibilitiesManage daily activities – Review, monitor and maintain terms and credit limits for major customers across the company to ensure compliance with Corporate Credit Policy, ensure supporting documentation is adequate, resolve customer, salesperson and management inquiries, continuous monitoring of rebate, discount and other programs. Plant coordination – Develop lines of communication back to the plants and regional accounting centers to ensure seamless communication for questions and problem resolution. Monitor – Track metrics to measure and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the Credit/Collections department. Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained while continuing to lower DSO through defined collection strategies. Evaluation – Perform credit and risk assessment for assigned portfolio of accounts.  Identify and monitor high risk accounts to minimize exposure.Staffing –Develop a strong team that can meet the requirements defined by Spartech.  Manage the evaluation of team member performance and provide regular constructive feedback.

 

Required Experience and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.Minimum 3-5 years of Credit/Collection experience Strong understanding of Credit/Collections best practices. Experience using system solutions to manage collection efforts would be a plus.Experience with Oracle or another ERP package is preferred.Experience working in or developing a Shared Services organization would be a plus.Strong communication skills both verbal and written.Travel will be minimal (less than 10%) – more may be required initially as we establish the Shared Services organization.
