Credit & Collections Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Â· Applies corporate credit and collection policies, practices and procedures to release orders and collect balances due as required. · Contacts CIT/Coface/D&B as well as banks and other financial institutions/credit references to obtain necessary financial data to appropriately evaluate a customer's financial situation. · Provides credit recommendations and helps to establish individual customer credit limits. · Continuously monitors delinquent accounts as related to the releasing of orders based upon credit availability.· Analyzes reasons for non-payment/slow payments and proactively prevent recurrence by identifying delinquent customers and placing them on credit hold. · Solicits payments of overdue accounts through regular follow-up with delinquent customers. · Regularly reviews aging reports and accounts receivable balances of assigned customers. · Ensures that credit card authorization forms are documented and organized in accordance with processes and policies. · Responsible for credit card payments and monitor daily to make sure shipments are not released without payment. · Ensures the compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations/ requirements and internal audit recommendations related to credit operations. · Demonstrates / initiates commitment to team objectives. · Provides exceptional customer service to sales, employees and co-workers. · Special projects, as required.  REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor degree preferred. Concentration in Accounting, Business, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Banking or other related field. Additional work experience can substitute for a degree. · Work Experience: Minimum three (3) years in a similar position and/or related field; i.e. credit analyst, collections/claims, accounts receivable, banking. Experience must be specific to specialty store credit/collections.· Must be proficient in but not limited to the following: Excel, Oracle, Outlook Express, MS Word, PowerPoint and other Windows based programs. · Applicant should be able to multi-task and / or systematically compile, interpret and convey pertinent credit & collections data to management and auditors. · Applicant must be able to demonstrate a high level of ambition & knowledge towards the team’s common goal of maximizing cash and minimizing credit risks.
