White Sands has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant.  This is a newly created position with the following responsibilities:

• Cost Accounting/Financial Analysis: Provide analysis of jobs, costing and standards in order to assist the plant in identifying areas for improvement.

 

• Determines and implements cost accounting procedures and methods.

 

• Updates manufacturing costs and expenditures on a monthly basis and examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly.

 

• Prepares financial analysis supporting manufacturing metrics (run rates, manufacturing waste, spending, headcount and fixed cost expenditures).

 

• Prepares annual budgets for operations including machine rates and relevant standard product costing. Support, improve and drive efficiency in budgeting and daily reporting.

 

• Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits.

 

• Direct interaction with Corporate Accounts Payable, Receiving and Shipping.

 

• Month End Close/Reporting and Internal Controls: Reports manufacturing variable and fixed cost of production results and prepares variance analysis.

 

Qualifications include a Bachelors Degree and 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.  Candidates must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing.  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.  Advanced skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite are also required.
