It produces diagnostic tools used for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), commonly referred to as acid reflux disease, as well as for neurological conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and sleep disorders. Founded in 1994, the company is headquartered in Orange County, California with manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts, Denmark, and Vietnam.

Our corporate Finance department is looking for an experienced cost accountant to help develop, plan, implement, and direct all cost accounting systems and activities for our manufacturing plant located in the Boston Metro area.

 

 

What would you be doing?Develops, reviews and maintains standard costs for all products including raw materials, direct labor and overhead.Prepares journal entries, reviews subsidiary ledgers, and prepares analysis to support month-end close process and financial statements preparation.Assists and reviews month end, quarter end and year end physical inventory process.Maintains and updates all job cost budgets and forecasts.Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares monthly and quarterly reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.Ensures that the integration of inventory system to the general ledger is accurate, i.e. mapping of inventory transactions to the general ledger.Maintains the integrity of product costs; monthly analysis of inventory valuations, production and other costs including scrap expense, purchase price variances and work order variances.Analyzes and establishes inventory related financial reserves as appropriate.Assists in the preparation of manufacturing overhead budgets.Suggests and implements changes to the inventory costing and valuation processParticipates and supports the annual independent audit.

Job requirements4 year degree in Accounting, Business or Finance with an emphasis in Accounting. 3 – 5 years of cost accounting, financial planning or analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.

Looking for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

 

· Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and strong cost-accounting principles, procedures, standards in a manufacturing environment.

· Advanced MS Excel skills are essential.

· Ability to facilitate process improvements

· Strong analytical and reasoning skills, effective time management and organization, good judgment, initiative, persuasiveness and thoroughness.

· Ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to work as a team player.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
