Corporate QA Manager

$$ Base + $$ bonus

Our client is a $1B+ privately held manufacturing company. They are seeking a QA visionary for their location in Cleveland, OH.

The person chosen for this key role will provide leadership, influence, and direction for the company's Quality Assurance activities. This would be done by building effective working relationships with all related groups and people, participation in the standardization of quality system processes, development and execution of plans for continuous improvement, and provide opportunities for personal and professional development of associates.



Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

-Reviews, Development, and Compensation - Develop skills of associates in the areas of leadership, customer support, problem solving etc. Resolve associate performance issues as needed. Create and maintain an environment that promotes teamwork, responsiveness, efficiency and a positive working environment. Administer timely performance and wage programs.

-Brand Promise - Ensure company's quality reputation throughout the extended supply chain. Ensure corporate wide compliance to company's Quality System. Participate in the management of the product returns, recall and containment processes.

-Quality Management Review- Maintain and communicate Corporate Quality related metrics to ensure clear visibility and understanding of our current state of product Quality and of the quality system. Develop and complete plans to address critical areas for improvement via an annual Corporate Quality Assurance Plan approved by the Executive Committee. Facilitate the Quality Assurance agenda at the Continuous Improvement Board (CIB) monthly meetings. Participate in service group quality review board meetings (QRB) and ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve quality problems at the local, service group and/or the corporate level.

-Product Quality Planning - Ensure appropriate development, implementation, communication and adoption of Product Quality Planning within the company. Sponsor and help steer the selection, development, enhancement and/or implementation of Information Systems needed to enable Quality Systems and the Product Quality Planning process.

-Audit Management - Develop and manage the annual Audit Master Plan. This includes internal, external and customer audit activities. Manage the internal Quality System audits and document any nonconformance within the Quality System. Sponsor and ensure compliance of external Quality Process audits.

-Corrective Actions - Oversee the effective management of the corrective action process for the company, ensure proper priority, ownership, and accountability for adding and closing all corrective actions, while providing assistance to the corrective action owners to ensure effectiveness. Facilitate the Corporate Corrective Action Review Board (CARB). Report progress to Continuous Improvement Board.

-Communication - Develop and conduct effective corporate wide quality assurance awareness programs

Department

-Staffing - Maintain appropriate staffing levels. Balance resource capacity to workload based on the implementation of efficient best practices.

-Budgeting - Manage group budget. Work with department supervisors to establish budgets, meet budget targets, analyze variances, and identify cost reduction opportunities.

-Standardization / Efficiency - Continually look for ways to improve methods and documentation for all business processes related to quality.

-Planning / Prioritization - Assist with strategic quality planning for the organization. Identify, analyze, assess, define and prioritize key quality projects, metrics, and goals to support company's Strategic Objectives and annual business plan.

-Customer Service - Work with the service groups / SBU's to provide an increasing level of service and responsiveness based on their needs to solve top quality issues.

-Accountability (Cost, Delivery, Quality) - Ensure that corporate quality systems and procedures are consistently implemented within at all sites within the company.


REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Techinical Field

At Least 3-5 Years of Management of Direct Reports

Implemtation projects within Quality, Lean and Six Sigma concepts
