CORPORATE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

 

COMPANY INFORMATION:  Growing multinational, mid-size, privately-held company which manufactures and distributes equipment for medical applications. Location:  Northwest Chicago Suburb. 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Corporate Accounting Manager supports the Vice President and Corporate Controller in the areas of financial close, consolidation, internal and external reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, planning and analysis.  The corporate accounting department works closely with the international and US accounting departments.  No staff supervision.  Low to no travel required.  Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers are encouraged to inquire. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Responsible for the monthly consolidation process.Performs analysis on monthly results including preparation of monthly reporting package.Performs and manages the treasury process activities.Organizes and supervises the internal financial process reviews and certifications under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) including the development of financial policies and procedures.Interfaces with external auditors relating to quarterly results and the year-end audit.Manages any local, state or federal tax matters and/or coordination with external experts.Collaborates in accounting for company-wide income taxes.Collaborates in the annual planning and quarterly forecast process.Participates in the preparation of registration statements if the company decides to move forward in the public offering.  If public, the Corporate Accounting Manager will organize and supervise the preparation of external financial reporting including published financial information:  Annual Report, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K.Performs accounting and finance special projects as assigned.

 REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA.Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.  Public accounting experience a plus. Excellent technical accounting skills combined with a strong foundation in internal controls and financial reporting.Prior SEC experience.Familiarity with internal controls and experience with the accounting close process.Strong PC application and accounting systems skills.Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business conditions in a growth environment.Experience in the financial reporting of income taxes a plus.Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley a plus.
