POSITION SUMMARY: The Regional Trade Compliance Coordinator will support the ITT Industrial Process sites located in City of Industry, CA and Simi Valley, CA to satisfy trade compliance requirements. This position is responsible for trade compliance processes, procedures, and performing daily activities to ensure the assigned sites effectively comply with all ITT Corporate and Industrial Process trade compliance policies. Also responsible to ensure compliance with US Export and Import Regulations as outlined by the US Departments of Commerce (EAR), Customs and Border Protection, Office of Foreign Asset Control and any other special trade programs/exporting regulatory requirements required for ITT Industrial Process domestic and international business. In addition, the role is responsible for providing guidance to the assigned sites leadership team and site employees on matters relating to trade compliance and ensuring trade compliance work practices are consistently utilized throughout the assigned sites.JOB DUTIES:The selected candidate will be responsible for export licenses, export commodity code classification (ECCN), deemed export compliance, correct customs classification (HTS), proper use of duty free programs, i.e., NAFTA, and broker management. The selected individual will work directly with the purchasing group to ensure proper handling of outsourcing activities as they relate to trade compliance including declaration of assists, duty calculations, receiving reconciliation, and minimizing legitimate duty exposure. Additional responsibilities include conducting internal trade compliance audits and facilitating externally required audits.Coordinate site level actions necessary to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the site's trade compliance activities covering operational processes, export licensing/classification, trade documentation, and trade identification/disclosures for both export and customs.Conduct licensing reviews for product shipments and technology transfers, including marketing materials, proposals and engineering data.Ensure accurate preparation and safe keeping of all trade compliance documentations; i.e., commercial invoice, SLI, SED, AES, NAFTA certificate and certificate of originDevelop, initiate, maintain, and revise site's trade compliance policies and procedures for the general operation of the trade compliance program within the site.Ensure effective trade compliance training for the site, including introductory training for new employees, and regular ongoing training for all employees, as directed by IP and ITT Trade Compliance Management. Conduct training of all onsite personnel to desk level procedures for import and export.Identify potential areas of trade compliance vulnerability and risk through periodic reviews and audits; work with local managers to develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problems, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Ensure trade compliance violations are identified and properly reported. Assist as needed in formal trade compliance violation disclosures, as necessary. Report on a regular basis, and as needed, to the IP Director, Quality Assurance and the Site General Manager on progress and opportunities. Provide reports on an as requested basis, to keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of trade compliance efforts. Participate in training, conferences and readings to stay current on all trade compliance governance, advances, and changes on a regular basis to ensure knowledge of the aspects which contribute to full trade compliance. Ensure all export / import documentations are properly prepared and retained. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: An undergraduate degree in International Business, Contract Management, Business Law (or equivalent experience) is desired.Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in trade compliance related activities including import/customs, export, government contracting, or other regulatory areas. Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of U.S. trade compliance regulations, including Export Administration Regulations, Customs and Border Protection, and Office of Foreign Assets Control egulations. The ability to apply technical knowledge of regulations to complex business transactions is required. Value Based Six Sigma training and certification preferred (Greenbelt and/or Black belt).Due to U.S. Government regulations governing certain Industrial Process products, US Citizenship or US Green Card status is required.
