Job Description Coordinator Primary Function:Coordinate the supply and movement of parts and materials throughout the department and assists wherever needed to answer questions give instructions, train employees and operate equipment to complete the assembly process. Assist supervisor in such manner as to expedite production, maintain quality standards and department efficiency while complying with all safety policies. Job Duties:· Perform all duties using required safety procedures and equipment according to company policies and practices. · Ensure that department employees comply with safety regulations as required.· Responsible for housekeeping, cleanliness, and organization of all areas. · Work with department planner to maximize on-time delivery and minimize cycle time. · Review work schedule and status of department production. · Monitor quality of production procedures to assure high quality.· Advise supervisor of status of production and related department information.· Complete material requisitions of purchased and manufactured parts and order as necessary.· Secure specified parts from the stockroom and other various work areas.· Establish inventory controls of parts on line within the department. · Coordinate physical inventory and cycle count activities in the departments.· Investigate, review, and identify shortages or errors due to transactional errors or BOM issues· Proficiency in use of computers for spreadsheets, word documents and transactional inventory movements and adjustments in the MRP system.· Assist employees by solving problems, answering questions, reviewing quality, and conducting training and making work assignments.· Fill in at various workstations to maintain department productivity. · Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosis of defects and/or problems on any equipment manufactured in the assembly area.· Ability to use a wide range of basic hand tools common to electrical and refrigeration trades.· Determine or aid in the determination of whether to scrap or to rework materials.· Operate forklift and hand truck to move units or parts to various stations/departments.· Assist engineers in making cabinet changes/modifications and in determining design feasibility· Ensure that service orders are complete in a timely manner.· Assist service department on technical calls from customers as requested.· Fill in for the department supervisor and performs other duties as requested. Job Knowledge:Must have thorough knowledge of all phases of work and procedures within the department. Must be skilled in the use of all department equipment and have a general knowledge of the product. Requires the ability to read and interpret schematics, as well as assist in the coordination of department production. Must have a thorough knowledge, of electrical and refrigeration systems and know the company’s quality standards. Coordinators must have Universal CFC certification and Brazing certification. Experience:Up to twelve months work experience is required to become proficient in most phases of the job. Previous training or work experience in electrical and/or refrigeration field would be beneficial in learning the job. Initiative and Ingenuity:Works with a wide range of situations where decisions must be made frequently. Follows established procedures, assists in planning and coordinating the work of other employees to maximize productivity and efficient use of parts. Uses initiative to maintain company quality standards. Physical Effort:Continuous walking throughout the department is required to include reaching and bending. Moderate to heavy lifting is inherent in the job. Good eye/hand coordination is required. Responsibility for Equipment:Normal use and care should prevent any damage to equipment. Responsibility for Material or Product:The coordinator works with parts/materials where errors would be detected within current or subsequent procedures. Hazards:Failure to follow established safety procedures could result in bodily injury. Responsibility for Others:Coordinator is responsible for regularly instructing and directing a group of employees in the accomplishment of department objectives. Working Conditions:Works in a metal manufacturing environment. Exposure to disagreeable factors on a daily basis is minimal. Job Level: Experienced
