For our client, an international manufacturer of high tech CNC machines for precision grinding and polishing, we are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and business minded professional as Finance Manager of its U.S.-operations (in charge of both North- and South America) based in the Chicago area.

 

The company offers a broad product portfolio for a variety of applications in surface processing, servicing industries in automotive, aerospace, industrial, medical, glass, ceramics and semiconductor-related businesses. A high effort in research and development, an emphasis on service and thorough processes, strong international expansion plus a growth oriented and positive working climate make this company a most attractive employer to work for. The company has over 500 employees worldwide with annual sales of around 200 million dollars and double-digit growth rates, with the US unit employing around 50 people and growing by 20% each year.

 

Position



 

As Finance Manager of the organization reporting directly to the President, this position is an opportunity for senior accountants, controllers or financial managers who want to play a vital part in running a highly successful manufacturing operation. Heading a team of three, the job involves absolute accuracy in overseeing the books on multiple sites and being responsible for month-end and yearly closings, reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, controlling, treasury, and financial analysis. Besides, the position holder will belong to the management team with the clear expectation (and opportunity) to contribute to the business development by proposing and calculating new options for further process improvements and growth. Participation in future acquisitions of the company is targeted. In the short term the transition of the company to a new SAP standard will require additional attention and process work.

Qualification



 

For this exciting opportunity you should hold a degree in accounting or management with at least four to five years of financial management experience within the manufacturing industry; a CPA would be strongly preferred.  As a character, the attributes accurate and thorough, reliable, independent, open minded, pro-active, team oriented, and apt to take responsibility ought to describe your personality well.

 

Experience with SAP and ideally also Hyperion as well as a certain degree of international exposure round out the profile of the “perfect candidate�.
