Continuous Improvement Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Manages projects in both manufacturing and office areas as part of the LEAN team to identify opportunities for improvement throughout the organization to reduce waste and improve workflow. Facilitates and directs cross-functional teams to implement LEAN concepts from conception through implementation and sustainment. Ability to impact cost savings preferred.  GENERAL: This position requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business, preferring Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Lean certification preferred. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the manufacturing, with in-depth knowledge of processes. Must have formal training and hands-on experience with continuous improvement techniques such as LEAN Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, etc. Must also have proven record of achieving cost savings and measurable operational improvements.   Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. Must have strong leadership and facilitation skills to guide groups of individuals that do not directly report to this position. Ability to motivate teams of people and drive for results. Must have exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.Familiarity with ISO compliance issues desired.Must be proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel Word and Power Point).  Experience with the use of AutoCad Lt and other data collection software is desired.We are proud to be an EOE.  SPX is an EOE.
