Key Responsibilities:This position will focus on leading the rating development of gas products utilized in Industrial and Power Generation applications and will be located at our Clovis, NM gas engine manufacturing facility. The role will focus on engine performance and emissions verification, integration of controls systems for maintenance and control of performance, emissions and protection, as well as establishing product specifications, and releasing the product to full production.The engineer will work closely with Production/Assembly and Test personnel to ensure processes and standards are in place to produce a capable engine, as well as development engineers, application and service engineers within High Horse Power (HHP) Engineering to resolve performance or emissions issues and support product integration into the application. This engineer will also participate or lead efforts to address product performance problems, BIS or Warranty related issues. Skills ' Functional/Technical:' Good working knowledge of IC engines, regulatory agency requirements, and Cummins systems such as Total Quality System (TQS), Value Package Introduction (VPI), Engineering Standard Work (ESW)' Familiarity with fuel systems, engine testing, and data acquisition and data reduction' Coordinate testing for performance and emissions under the principles of Cummins Performance and Emissions Functional Excellence' Ability to manage multiple project tasks, test cell usage, and technical resources' Perform data analysis, lead technical design reviews, and document with technical reports' Write engineering releases that adhere to standards and guidelinesSkills ' Quality/Improvement:' Complete product development that falls within known product profile and standards, revise or create new standards as needed' Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and methodical problem solving' Must have willingness to participate in improvement projects, Six Sigma.Skills ' Teamwork:' Work effectively in cross-functional technical groups/teams' Work closely with Technical Product Leaders, Quality, Manufacturing, Suppliers, to achieve producible quality designs at the lowest possible cost and On-Time' Highly motivated to meet customer requirementsSkills ' Leadership:' Lead design reviews, drawings reviews, and technical discussions/presentations' Must have good planning skills as well as verbal and written documentation' Must be flexible in taking an different responsibilities as the work changes' Must be self-motivated and require minimal supervisionTravel Required (%): 25%Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
