CZ Process Technology Manager

The Process Technology Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the crystal Process Technology Engineering department in developing processes/procedures and equipment specifications by performing the following duties personally or through assigned engineers and technical staff. Also responsible for coordinating activities of engineers assigned to each unit and coordination with other departments, vendors and SolarWorld companies. This position ensures adequate tool, process and personnel capabilities are continuously developed and maintained for a highly efficient and functional system supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. As leader of the process technology team, this position selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function and manages through others to accomplish business objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage the Process Technology Engineering department for the CZ operation in Hillsboro, OR. • Ensure Safe and environmentally sound practices within all areas. • Manage the individual process startups and modifications to ensure that all required process systems are fully capable of 24/7 operations to meet production schedule requirements. • Actively develop the engineering team through hiring, motivating and training employees to build capable departmental functions for the required 24/7 operational support. • Must demonstrate proficiency in the understanding and application of leadership principles and supervisory tools for the efficient management of direct and indirect subordinates. • Preference for formal training and certification in project/program management tools and problem solving tools. • Must possess excellent project management capabilities, as this position will be responsible for driving large projects to successful completion according to established timelines. • Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel and Power Point as well as ERP systems for reporting. Additional preference for knowledge and use of project management software and ERP systems. • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Must demonstrate effective leadership (e.g., people management) skills for managing a function including performance management, career development and coaching of supervisors, engineers and other individual contributor positions. • Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives by working in and with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams. • Preference for entrepreneurial drive and prior experience with startup companies or new business division launches. • Must possess valid driver's license, valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required This position is ideal for a seasoned Technology expert with prior leadership role(s). The ideal candidate relishes the challenge of a startup environment and is a proactive problem-solver with project and program leadership capability. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant science. Preference for Master's degree in related discipline. • Must possess a minimum of 8 years of direct Engineering experience with 2 years leadership experience in a relevant high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably with Czochralski crystal growing. • Must demonstrate proficiency in the understanding and application of leadership principles and supervisory tools for the efficient management of direct and indirect subordinates. • Preference for formal training and certification in project/program management tools and problem solving tools. • Must possess excellent project management capabilities, as this position will be responsible for driving large projects to successful completion according to established timelines. • Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel and Power Point as well as ERP systems for reporting.
