CNC Programmer and Machining Coordinator

 

A manufacturer of custom wood doors is seeking a qualified individual for the machining and tooling department.  The position will have a wide range of responsibilities which include programming and running CNC equipment; purchasing and managing machine tools; and training CNC operators.  The qualified individual will receive training, a competitive hourly rate and benefits package as well as the potential to participate in a quarterly bonus plan.  The company operates on a 24/7 schedule and can accommodate a variety of desired schedules.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

 

· Write CNC programs to machine for door hardware using templates or detailed descriptions

· Operate CNC equipment on complicated jobs or to fill in for missing operators

· Work with operators, vendors and maintenance to troubleshoot equipment problems

· Work closely with CNC operators to make process improvements and to monitor quality

· Work with sales and customer service departments to gather customer requirements

· Manage tooling purchases and inventory

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· 5+ years manufacturing experience

· 3+ years operating CNC equipment

· 2+ years programming CNC equipment

· In-depth knowledge setting up and trouble shooting a wide variety of advanced woodworking equipment and tooling

· Basic CAD experience, and the ability to understand detailed engineering specs and drawings

· Able to interpolate dimensions and equipment setup parameters based on rough information and limited drawings

· Understands controller commands and parameters and can recalibrate machines when needed

· Understands quality parameters and specifications and has a proven history of high-quality work

· Organized, detailed oriented and comfortable working in a fast paced environment with goals and deadlines

· High school diploma or GED required, advanced education a plus

· Spanish language skills a plus
