First Shift Supervisor Skills Required: CNC Machine Shop Supervisor, First Shift Job Description: CNC Machine Shop Supervisor, First Shift Location: Poway, CA - We will relocate the right candidate!Are you a First Shift CNC Machine Shop Supervisor ready to join an amazing organization?We are a well-established and stable job shop precision machining organization, offering excellent salaries and benefit packages. You will be responsible for managing all shop activities related to machining and component fabrication including: supervision of all machining personnel, planning, scheduling and monitoring activities to minimize machining cost, promote and insure safe work practices. Responsible for managing continuous improvements on machinery and shop floor operations, based on overall company goals and metrics.In this growth position you will:~ Utilize machining background to make sound decisions on scheduling work and manpower on machines, as well as continuous improvements. ~ Work with the machine shop team to drive continuous improvement through driven measures, open team dialogue and a bias for action; ~ Assign jobs according to priorities in order to maintain scheduled completion dates, utilizing the most appropriate machines and employees for efficient production. ~ Supervise and provide leadership to all employees involved in Machining in order to effectively meet company goals and objectives. ~ Manage resources within his/her area of responsibility to ensure staffing and equipment levels match business activity levels. ~ Coach and motivate employees in the performance of their jobs and look for new ways to continually improve operations, through focused efforts and initiatives. ~ Supervise employees by checking product in all stages of production to maintain a high standard of quality and quantity in accordance with ISO and Company requirements; ~ Orients, trains and instructs all employees in the safe and efficient performance of their duties; ~ Promotes, maintains, and enforces safe and healthy working conditions for all employees in accordance with legislative requirements and Company standards ~ Ensures equipment is safe in order to produce expected quality and quantity of product; ~ Maintains a good working relationship with fellow supervisors and internal quality control, in order to ensure a continuous flow of expected productivity throughout the plant; ~ Implement training programs to expand employee knowledge and insure compliance to company rules and guidelinesQualifications:~ Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a department head, supervisor or leader in a CNC Machine Shop ~ Precision Machining Experience ~ Mills and Lathes Experience - 4 and 5 axis ~ EDM experience highly preferred but not necessary ~ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and their application would be an asset. ~ Experience with large parts in a high mix low volume production environment a plus. ~ Technical machining background in a manufacturing environment, CNC experience a plus ~ Communications skills a must If you are ready to join an amazing company with fantastic benefits then we look forward to your Machine Shop Supervisor resume!Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
