CAD Designer

Use your skills in CAD in an exciting manufacturing envirnment.  We are willing to train in 3D for the right candidate with a can do attitude and an keen eye for design.  Many of our CAD designers have moved into engineering positions within the organization.  As part of our engineering department, CAD Designers have the ability to participate in product design and product improvement.  In a typical day, you would work on the drawing and modification of different bus seating parts and seating systems.  

Freedman Seating Company, a growing manufacturing company on Chicago’s West Side, has an exciting opportunity in our engineering area.  We are a bus seat manufacturer and a leader in our industry. Our nearly 600 employees support the bus building industry with high quality seating. We often customize our products and are consistently expanding our product line.

We would expect candidates would have experience as a CAD Drafter, preferably using Auto CAD, in a manufacturing environment.  Some 3D modeling experience (i.e. Solid Works, Inventor, Pro E, or Solid Edge) is a plus, but not required.  We are looking for candidates interested in expanding their CAD skills; we will provide outside training to the right person!

Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes a plus.  Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees.  As a busy customized engineering department, you must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Basic skills in Word, Excel are expected, Access and Outlook a plus.
