Buyer / Planner-Bardstown

ORBIS Corporation, a leader in the returnable plastics industry has an opening for a Buyer/Planner in our Bardstown, Kentucky plant. This position is responsible for scheduling and purchasing materials via MRP in SAP to support production schedule for high pressure and structural foam machines to maximize on time delivery to our customers and maximize plant efficiency and profitability.  This position reports directly to Materials Manager and will interface with all levels of plant personnel as needed to successfully schedule production.This role will also interface with numerous roles at the corporate office (Oconomowoc, WI) such as Customer Support, Corporate Master Scheduling, Sales and Marketing.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  Plan and control appropriate levels of inventory to support production. Initiate, review and process purchase requisitions. Coordinate with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule. Assist Master Scheduler with plant production schedule. Review and manage change requests from customers, plants and suppliers, appropriately rescheduling where necessary. Develop and maintain all master data related to planning (e.g. safety stock, lead times, lot sizes, etc.) Support inventory management directives indicated by materials manager. Inform the appropriate individuals (materials manager, plant manager) of any issues related to the material availability and maximizing on time delivery and plant efficiency.

Job Requirements:




A new graduate from a Production and Operations Management program, with prior ERP system experience; SAP experience preferred. 1-2 years past experience in similar role for ISO certified manufacturer ideal. Job Code : 142 Division/Department : Plant-Bardstown Travel Required : 10-20%
