Business Systems Analyst

This position is responsible for acquiring, designing, building, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting manufacturing related systems to meet specific customer requirements for the Waco TCS manufacturing facility. All development facets must follow Sarbanes-Oxley legislation requirements and Trane internal Project Management Methodology (PMM) guidelines. Individual must be able to gain a good understanding of the business or function processes applicable, any associated business software packages and other integrated processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Ability to analyze, break down, identify requirements and design or modify an application or system to solve a business problem. • Full compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley and other IT controls (internal and external). • Work with users from all departments to develop or maintain system solutions for assigned projects to meet the requirements of a given business process. • Must be competent in all phases of systems analysis and design functions, have responsibility for application design, coding, testing, debugging and thorough documentation skills. • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. • Must be a self-starter, able to take initiatives and identify problems. • Utilization of Six Sigma and LEAN tools during appropriate phases of a given project. • Meet given deadlines, both short and long-term. • Perform other IT, project and/or administrative duties as assigned.This position also serves as the MISG Plant Business Systems Analyst for the Waco TCS manufacturing facility. These responsibilities include: • Represent the facility as the single point of contact for plant specific needs, coordination with other parts of MISG and communication of local needs to other team members. • Manage local projects, work with hub leader to assign and coordinate resources, as needed, from other areas within MISG. • Meet regularly with the plant leadership to review, manage and communicate current projects and backlog. Work with leadership in establishing priorities and resolving issues. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or related technical field and 5 years of experience in an IT role required. Associate’s degree in CS, IT, or related technical field and 7 years of experience in an IT role may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. • Familiarity and understanding of Sarbanes Oxley Section 404. • Working application development experience using Visual Studio .NET environment, ODBC, ADO, PL/SQL required. • Working experience with WindowsNT/2000/XP/CE and UNIX operating systems required. • Working experience with a relational database such as Oracle or SQLServer required. • Demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills required. • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Business Objects / Crystal Info / Reports required. • Working experience with Cincom manufacturing systems and AppWorx scheduling software preferred.
