Business Planner

Our client, an automotive manufacturer, located half an hour east of Lexington, KY, is seeking a Business Planner to manage all strategic business planning functions including profit planning, cost estimating and planning, sales and income analysis, sales and production forecasts.

 

The selected applicant will work with annual plans and company sales plans to assist in profit planning; revise annual operating plan, long term plan, set standard costs, perform monthly follow-up, input missing costs, make sales analysis and prepare monthly management report.  Will also calculate accrual balances, monitor accounting closing activity, analyze end-of-term sales and income, estimate costs for new products and engineering changes, make sales price plan, make monthly sales and production forecast, and prepare material/reports for meetings/presentations.

 

The overall goal for this position is to accurately measure, analyze, and plan company sales, costs, and profit and to lead to realize with top management.  The Business Planner provides support in the planning, action, adjusting, and execution phases of business cycle. Goal is accomplished by analyzing and summarizing annual plans,  setting standard costs through purchasing prices, production plans, piece rates, and processing costs; performing monthly follow up reports through summarizing sales and expenses, compiling monthly management reports; term-end closing activities including calculating accrual balances, following accounting activity, and analyzing term’s sales and income; estimating and planning costs, making sales price plan; preparing monthly sales and production forecasts; performing local content reporting.  Successful candidate will have responsibility for budget preparation and conducting financial analysis.

 

Four-year degree required (Accounting major preferred), along with manufacturing cost experience, excellent oral and written communications, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, expert software skills, excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, ability to research, analyze, and evaluate proposed costs and expenditures.
