Position: Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
Location: Lewisville, Texas
As a BI Developer, your focus will be designing, developing and testing BI solutions. You will be responsible for working with project managers and internal customers to understand requirements and facilitate the development of BI solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools and underlying technologies.
Technical Skills & Experience
· 3+ years of enterprise-wide technology experience within the BI space.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
· Understanding of OLAP services and creation of cubes based on multi-dimensional modeling.
· Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2005 including MDX, asp.net, and c#.
· Experience in Database Design and Programming (SQL2005).
· Proficient in SQL: Server Database, Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS), and Reporting Services (SSRS).
· Knowledge of ETL design.
Soft Skills & Experience
· Ability to write technical and business documents as well as produce and deliver oral presentations.
· Proficiency in business requirements gathering and documentation.
· Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Strong relationship building skills with Team Members and Business Users.
· Proven ability to achieve business goals in a timely and effective manner.
· Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing business requirements.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Pricing/Cost Analysis experience will be a plus.
General Responsibilities
· Database development activities including database and table creation in a SQL environment to enable the generation of cubes via Analysis Services.
· Programming intermediate to complex SQL and stored procedures.
· Utilizing a combination of stored procedures ad Integration Services to enable required data extract, transform, and load procedures and packages (ETL).
· Utilizing Analysis Services to produce multi-dimensional models, including the construction of Data View, Fact and Dimension tables, and building Cubes.
· Developing complex, parameterized reports through Reporting Services from a variety of data sources including Analysis Services Cubes.
· Publish reports in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
Education
· Minimum 4 year college degree or 5 years equivalent work experience.
· Microsoft certification in database, web technology, or business intelligence design.
