POSITION OBJECTIVE Perform on going Health & Welfare support activities, including compliance for all Health and Welfare Benefits (Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability) through customer interaction the completion of routine system maintenance, problem resolution, process improvement, communication and training. This position will provide basic project management to low/medium complexity. Responsibility of escalated and in-depth system related issues.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:What are the principal responsibilities of this job? Function as primary point-of-contact for Health & Welfare questions and issues for HR community and active and retiree participants as appropriate Complete Virtual Help Desk tickets in accordance with established timeframes. Present and/or report Health and Welfare (including retiree) information to HR stakeholders and others as needed. Must have some knowledge of Health and Welfare plans. Process Benefit Appeal decisions (including contacting participant) Research problems with benefits (including eligibility, deduction discrepancies, claim issues) Assist in special projects as assigned Determine when to escalate problems for additional support Interface with vendors, legal, Human Resources, The Benefits Administrative Committee and other stakeholders as needed on service, compliance issues, plan interpretation, and legal requirements. Participate in various initiatives and compliance reporting (including FAS 106, FAS 112, Medicare Part D, Subsidy Filing, Annual Enrollment, Acquisitions and Divestitures, etc.) Comply with standard processing policies and practices as outlined by the Team Leader. Maintain specific processing knowledge on benefits systems (including ORACLE, GEAC, iSelect, PeopleSoft) Researching plan documents as appropriate, ensuring all history has been obtained in order to analyze, interpret and make a decision with the appropriate stakeholder advice and oversight Other duties as assigned
