Benefits Administrator F65
MAJOR PURPOSE OF POSITION
Administer the welfare benefit programs, defined benefit programs, and defined contribution programs for all salaried employees, bargaining unit employees, domestic subsidiary employees and retirees. This includes annual open enrollments, individual participant enrollments, changes, and terminations. Research benefits questions and issues using written plan documents. Complete documentation for annual PBGC Premium filings, and annual 5500 filings and submit to IRS by deadline.

JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Administer benefit programs for all employees and retirees. Must understand all benefit programs, be able to explain those programs to participants. Coordinate annual open enrollment, on-going enrollments, changes, and terminations. Manage distribution of all benefit materials, including new hire packets, 401 k enrollment packages, confirmation statements, etc.
2. Work with providers to manage and monitor claims and billings for participants, and assist participants with problem resolution. Performs monthly processing and reconciliation of employee benefit contributions. Communicates regularly with record keepers to set up, maintain, or change employee benefits.
3. Provide reporting information in a timely manner. This includes providing annual valuation testing information to actuary. Providing monthly/quarterly/annual earnings information to record keepers. Providing annual testing information to 40lk providers. All information provided to vendors must be audited for accuracy and completeness. Reconcile any differences, discrepancies and review results. A thorough understanding of the plans and the testing process is required in order to accomplish satisfactory testing results.
4. Responsible for completing the annual 5500 and PBGC premium filing to the IRS. A complete understanding of the plans and the forms being filed is required in order to accurately accomplish this task.
5. Work with outside auditors through the annual audit period providing information and answering questions as required.
KNOWLEDGE
Two-year degree or equivalent in a business curriculum that includes accounting.
EXPERIENCE
This position requires communication skills, computer and accounting skills at a level normally acquired through completion of a two-year degree in a business curriculum and three years of business experience. Current knowledge of benefit plans and prior work experience dealing directly with employee benefits is required. Must be able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality, and work well under pressure.
