Business Development Manager

Role

In this key role, you will identify new business opportunities for our Biomaterials business unit. Your primary focus will be on healthcare applications with US companies, but opportunities to grow the business in industrial applications and expanding economies in Asia will also be explored. You must be able to identify business opportunities based on market knowledge and the value-added potential of the technology offering, with your activities resulting in funded development work, license revenues and material sales.

 

 

Requirements

We’re seeking an individual with a Biochemistry degree (MBA preferred) and 5-10 years of related experience, including:

 

· Experience in structuring and closing deals, particularly out-licensing and supply agreements

· Minimum basic understanding of IP and regulatory affairs

· An effective appreciation of business needs, with the ability to conduct market research and present clear proposals and reports

· Experience dealing with technical, medically-trained and commercially-adept people

· Effective organizational, written and communication skills

· The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

· A scientific/medical background would be an advantage
