Associate Service Technician

Kent, WA - The Associate Service Technician will receive, estimate, repair, perform data entry, and may perform final inspections and ship endoscopes. The incumbent will understand and participate in telephone support and communicate with customers relative to the repair of their Olympus instruments. He/She will telephonically troubleshoot technical questions for customers, recommend parts acquisition to maintain inventory, perform minor electronics repairs, and read and understand repair data.  EOE M/F/D/V

* Document estimation and repair findings accurately and thoroughly, so that a clear history of the instrument is evident and available.

 

* Perform repairs according to established quality criteria and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions and other approved reference material used for each estimate or repair.

 

* Understand and work within the system of parts acquisition and inventory control, including requesting parts and supplies, to ensure availability of parts and supplies.

 

* Troubleshoot equipment telephonically to assist customers with basic electronic repairs.

 

* Access and update repair data files, entering information from estimate forms to ensure accuracy of data.

 

* Acquire and read technical bulletins applicable to repair and service and integrate information into repair activities. 

* Coordinate the entire material flow, from estimation to shipment as designated by his/her supervisor, to ensure equipment is returned in timely fashion.

 

* Perform field service customer visits, either alone or accompanied by a more experienced Technician, to repair and/or service equipment or become familiar with different types of equipment.

 

* Perform other related duties as assigned.


 

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED) 

* A High School Diploma or GED, along with one (1) year electro-mechanical repair experience, or High School Diploma/GED and Trade School Certificate in electro-mechanical repair is required.


* Must have good telephone etiquette.


* Manual dexterity, strong analytical skills and computer literacy are required.


* Must possess good customer service skills.
