Associate Brand Manager

PURPOSETo manage one or more of the product lines at Burt's Bees and assist the Brand Manager in planning, developing and directing the marketing efforts for new and existing products. This position will coordinate activities in sales, advertising, promotion, research and development, marketing research, and package development. The Associate Brand Manager will also be responsible for additional projects as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer or by the Director, Global Marketing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Lead efforts for New Product Development, providing successful communication between all essential team members. Own assigned product line(s) and apply skills to analyze existing business and identify and implement new strategic marketing initiatives for growth. Work with the Brand Manager to learn and then apply skills to define and communicate a clear, meaningful brand message and point of difference to the consumer. Apply skills to use all marketing tools to broaden the consumer base, while continuing to leverage the existing brand franchise and consumer loyalty. Apply skills to ensure successful implementation of the assigned product line(s) into new markets and customer accounts through establishing excellent annual marketing plans, displays, promotions, and product placement.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Work with personnel from the Planning & Purchasing Department, Quality Resources Department, Production Department, and Customer Care Department, as well as with outside suppliers, to resolve product and packaging issues and concerns. Represent the Marketing Department at various meetings and maintain excellent team working relations among all employees. Represent the Marketing Department and maintain excellent public relations with all external contacts. Represent the Marketing Department in interactions with Trade Marketing and Sales on assigned projects. Continuously improve ways of working and identify opportunities for making work more effective and streamlined.

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS BA/BS Degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience is required. MBA in Marketing and related work experience is preferred. Demonstrated experience maintaining excellent work relationships with internal and external contacts is required. Excellent verbal, written, organizational and creative thinking skills are required. Demonstrated abilities of resourcefulness, flexibility, thinking with good judgment; initiative, teamwork and a strong work ethic are required. Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and work with minimal supervision is required. Strong analytical skills. Excellent computer skills in Excel and Word are required.
