Assitant Production Manager

Legacy Converting, Inc. is a fast growing, paper/non-wovens converting company that is currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager to oversee production in our 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Carlstadt, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience as a supervisor or manager in the paper/non-wovens converting industry. They should understand the technical aspects of web tension control and have some experience with paper converting machines such as slitter/rewinders, quarter-folding machines, flat sheeters or the like. This individual will keep the pace of production in the facility, take a lead role in quality control, and ensure all products being made are labeled and palletized correctly. It is a HIGH LEVEL, NON-STOP, HIGH ENERGY position that for the right person could lead to advancement to Production or General Manager in the future. Candidate must be computer literate and feel comfortable preparing Excel spreadsheets and working within our SAP software for inventory control, production work order preparation and result tracking. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable documenting production issues and identifying potential process improvements. This individual will be responsible for coordinating with the Shipping & Receiving Manager to ensure that each machine has all the raw materials, boxes, cores and everything else they may need to carry out their work orders and keep production moving. Candidate for this position must be Bi-Lingual English/Spanish and be able to communicate effectively in either language to clearly communicate directions, hold meetings or deliver performance evaluations to our Spanish speaking employees. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7a.m. to whenever the job is done (most days it’s 4p.m.). We are offering a salary of $50,000 to $60,000+/yr depending on experience.
