Applications Engineer (Utility Group)-West Coast

Description:Eaton Corporation's Electrical Group has an opening for an experienced Applications Engineer for its Utility Group, this position will require the successful candidate to be based out of the West Coast, preferrably Los Angeles or San Francisco. Achieve acceptability of Eaton Electrical products in difficult or under-developed markets, maintains close relations with specifying factors that generates a preference for products in purchasing specifications, and provides technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, distributors, and customers. This position must be a respected and visible member in the engineering community as well as within Eaton Electrical. Problem solving and engineering skills are essential and should be admired both outside and within the company. Other basic skills that are required include exceptional product knowledge, presentation and training skills, time management, and knowledge of the competition. Incumbent provides input to divisional headquarters personnel in assaying products in the market and projects needs for new and /or modified products to maintain and develop market leadership. The successful candidate must possess a good understanding of selling techniques and Eaton's capabilities, market channels, and technical applications of Cutler-Hammer products. This position will also be responsible for conducting product training and application seminars for Reps and customers. Trips to support, and train new and existing Reps personnel. This includes participation in trade shows and evaluating applications as related to the segment.Participation in planning and formulating the segment marketing and sales strategy. Help formulate timely quotations with the support of the ISE to Reps and customers with focused efforts on driving specification preference.Assist in coordinating segment communications. Communicate with our Reps, customers (both internal & external) to answer their technical questions.
