Providing temperature-controlled environments for food and other perishables are essential in today's global market. Through our Climate Control Technologies sector and Thermo King and Hussmann brands, we provide global solutions for the transportation and retail refrigeration market.
We are currently seeking an experienced Application Engineer - ShuttleAire at our Bloomington, MN location.
As an Application Engineer you will:Provide technical expertise to assure that Thermo King bus air conditioning units are properly applied to the customers buses. Assist customers in determining the installation requirements of particular applications and release installation kits to meet those needs. Assist product management in collecting market requirements and developing products to meet those requirements. Function as an interface between the bus OEM, the procuring authority, and Thermo King to assure that the bus air conditioning system is properly applied to the bus and installed per Thermo King guidelines. Review bid specifications and provide information to Sales and the bus OEM with recommended products to met bid requirements and track status of all Requests for Approved Equal. Coordinate development projects between the bus OEM and Thermo King engineering and assist TK engineering by providing on site observations and analysis of the application, and serving as a channel for communication. Develop installation kits as needed for customer orders. Participate in cost reductions and value engineering of the shuttle and school bus air conditioning products. Serve as the focal point for liaison with the service department. Assist product management in collecting market requirements and developing products to meet those requirements.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 2+ years experience in the transit bus industry or similar experience. Design skills utilizing ProE preferred. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to support customers. Ability to travel up to 10%.
