Application Engineer

Position Summary:

The Application Engineer is responsible for assisting the Sales Team in closing new business opportunities.  This position will be responsible for working directly with customers in a pre-sales and post-sales role providing technical guidance and design consulting on the best use of  Digi products as it pertains to technical needs.



Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

Provides technical support to the company’s sales staff and customers. Participates in providing, presenting, and interpreting design, application, and service information.   Participates in developing product specifications and technical designed for a specific customer and explores the business feasibility of general marketing.  Provides pre-sales technical qualification assistance, seminars, demonstrations, initial hardware and system level design reviews.    Provides technical training to distribution and channels as required.



 

Position Requirements

Bachelor's or Masters degree in engineering or 2+ years related experience including system or hardware design or an equivalent combination of experience and education Familiar with embedded system requirements, hardware design, and software architecture Previous related sales experience highly desiredMust have exceptional communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with various technical and sales personnel at all levels of the organization
