Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) in the coordination and preparation of on-going financial forecasts, monitoring and reporting performance against plan and the analysis and reporting of key performance indicators and benchmark data. This position will assist the Manager of FP&A in the development of monthly actuarial claim lag studies and the forecasting and estimation of incurred medical expenses and medical claims reserves. Related to the Company’s medical reserves, this position will complete monthly reconciliations of medical expenses and claims disbursements to the claim lag studies. Finally, this position will assist the Manager of FP&A in performing special departmental and corporate projects as assigned.  Assist in the compilation and maintenance of a financial forecast binder for all companies and affiliates, to include assumptions, pertinent analysis and results across all forecasted elements (KPIs, membership, medical revenue & expense, operating expenses, capital budget, cash flows, SAP capital & surplus, etc.)  Develop and maintain databases and reporting systems necessary to compile and manage the raw data which is the basis for the company’s financial and statistical forecasting and reporting.  Assist in the preparation of monthly claim lag studies and the estimation of incurred medical expenses and medical claims reserves.  Prepare monthly reconciliations of medical expenses and claims disbursements to the monthly claim lag studies.

 

 

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent certification required.  Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Three or more years relevant data analysis and forecasting experience required (preferably in a health or managed care environment)AvMed Health Plans is a Drug-Free Workplace, EOE
