Job Summary:
The Alternative Fuels Director will, under general direction and minimal supervision, lead Micro Motions participation in the alternative fuels segment. This will be done by working with individuals within the Micro Motion global sales organization and along with Emerson divisions already participating in alt fuels to expand our overall value message. The industries that make up Alternative fuels are CNG, LPG, LNG(dispensing) and hydrogen. The Director will be responsible for analyzing our go to market strategy and introducing new & innovative ideas to support market growth.
In this position, the Alternative Fuels Director will be responsible for communicating Micro Motion's differentiation strategy through sales and marketing presentations, customer contacts, in training situations, and participation in Alt Fuel segment industry events and associations. The Director in this position has consistently shown the ability, desire and drive, to lead numerous projects within sales, industry and product marketing, and as needed, involving the rest of the organization.
Job Description:
1.Develop a comprehensive business plan for the Alternative Fuels industry with attention to the CNG segment.
2.Assume P&L ownership and responsibility for Alt Fuels segment.
3.Review go to market strategy and sales channel and propose a centralized order placement structure without sacrificing sales.
4.Communicate Nanjing value benefits “serve Asia from Asia” to CNG customer base.
5.Lead, complete and communicate benefits of CNG high density shipment changes to internal/external customers.
6.Champion specific industry needs within the organization. Lead efforts to define and drive development and maintenance of products and services that best serve the industry.
7.Develop long-term segment strategic plans to assist in overall business planning and ensure integration with MMI's strategic plan.
8.Key contributor to determining market research requirements/strategies.
9.Assures thorough analysis of industry performance is done, reports trends and makes recommendations to senior management.
10.Provides guidance and support to global sales organization in the negotiation of strategic and large agreement opportunities.
11.Drive development of the necessary sales tools and messaging that aid the global alternative fuels sales force efforts in communicating specific MMI strengths and strategy within Alt fuel segment pursuits.
12.Work with Micro Motion and Emerson Divisions towards a common strategy for increasing Emerson value and further penetrating Alt Fuel segments.
13.Coordinate and oversee the launching of Fractional sensor products designed for Alt Fuel applications/segments. Development of global pricing structure, commissions and simplified order placement process.
14.Assess LPG dispenser/Bobtail segment and make recommendations for further expansion into market.
15.In close cooperation with the appropriate Emerson world area organization, recommend and help implement changes to the existing sales channels to maximize coverage and effectiveness.
16.Direct customer support activities, developing and maintaining favorable relations with customers, and ensuring that excellent customer service is provided.
17.Identify appropriate industry trade exhibitions and promote Micro Motion at key events. Create and seek opportunities to align with Emerson divisions at key shows.
18.Identify and recommend key organizations/associations Micro Motion should participate in to increase visibility within targeted segments.
19.Identify industry specific approvals necessary and lead efforts to secure both internally and externally.
20.Recommend engineering changes to existing products, new product potential, and new approaches for greater market penetration. Emphasis placed on promoting standard product requiring little or no changes.
21.Lead efforts to understand CNG global support/warranty limitations and make recommendations for improvement.
Job Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of the Alternative Fuels industry is preferred as well as Marketing/Sales leadership skills. The latter includes market segmentation and development of actionable, measurable strategies to generate incremental revenue.
Also required is sound knowledge of the principles and methods of fluids and flow measurement, process control, and instrumentation. Strong knowledge of Coriolis technology is especially helpful.
Must be able to work in and communicate through a multi-layer matrix organization.
Proven track record of working with a complex global Emerson Process Management organizational structure.
Strong computer proficiency, including the use of common word processing (such as Word), spreadsheet programs (such as Excel), and presentation packages (such as PowerPoint). Proficiency in the use of a database program (such as Access) is preferred. Strong presentation skills are required.
Must be willing to travel up to 40% of time, both domestically and internationally.
Experience:
Ten years minimum of sales/marketing experience, of which five is related to the Alternative Fuels industry. International experience required. Must be free to travel at least 40% of the time.
Education:
B.S. degree in engineering. MBA preferred but not essential.
