Administrator, Credit & Collections
The ideal candidate administers, collects and resolves outstanding invoices from past due accounts. Reviews files to select delinquent accounts for collection efforts. Evaluates customer records and recommends that account be closed, credit limit reduced or extended, or collection attempted, based on earnings and savings data, payment history, and purchase activity of customer. Interfaces with sales support, customer service and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts. Performs pre-sale credit risk evaluation including financial statement analysis and analysis of data obtained from bank and trade references. Analyzes and reports on credit memo and write-off activity. Performs data entry and prepares periodic reports as appropriate. Maintains records or files of credit transactions, deposits, and payments, and sends letters or confers with customers having delinquent accounts to make payment. Adjusts incorrect credit charges and grants extensions of credit on overdue accounts. Accepts payment on accounts. Confers with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses. Interviews customers in person or by telephone to investigate complaints, verify accuracy of charges, or to correct errors in accounts. A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in finance or accounting is required with a minimum of two years credit & collections related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in the use of accounting systems, spreadsheet data and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
