Quaero is looking to add a strong business development executive to our leadership team who will help accelerate our growth and establish our firm as a leader in providing innovative marketing analytics solutions for online media space.

Principal Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, the VP – Online Media Industry Sales will be responsible for developing high-level client relationships for Quaero with senior marketing executives of online media companies and clients/prospects across industries that want to leverage the online channel to sell their products and services.

Quaero helps its clients drive more online revenue by providing more targeted marketing capabilities and site content optimization opportunities with a framework of analytics, segmentation and automation technology. We have multi-million dollar client stories to leverage, and experience working with hundreds of leading database marketing companies. 

Expanding on our client successes in online marketing, this individual will be a “rainmaker” for Quaero, leveraging their industry expertise to open doors and focus our efforts. 

This individual will lead a disciplined team sales process resulting in near-term marketing services engagements evolving into long-term contracts and million dollar client relationships.

The Vice President will drive all aspects of Quaero’s online marketing new business development including:

·  Advice and direction for online media lead generation marketing efforts

·  Opportunity identification

·  Developing contacts at the senior and functional middle management levels of major target organizations

·  Sales strategy

·  Making presentations

·  Structuring & negotiating deals

·  Achieving closure

The Vice President will also participate in Quaero’s account management efforts with our online media clients to foster sustained client satisfaction and promote long-term relationships.

Compensation
Commensurate with experience and includes both a six-figure base salary and lucrative uncapped commission plan.

Quota
$3 – 4 million in new contracted business annually

Travel
Available to travel on a frequent, as needed, basis

Industry Targets
Online media networks, news sites, social networks, commerce, search and niche content providers.

Location
Preferably San Francisco/Bay or New York Metro areas

Education
An undergraduate degree is required. An MBA or advance degree would be a plus

The Candidate Should Have

·  Extensive experience (10-12 years) in business development

·  Prior experience in the online marketing space a must:Worked for a major online content publisher or commerce site in ad sales or related field.  Experience with the customer segmentation and analytic methods and technologies employed in online/multi-channel marketing.  Prior multi-channel marketing experience desired

·  Prior experience in customer and/or online analytics a plus:Understanding of customer segmentation strategies and CRM programs delivering highly customized, targeted consumer valueFamiliarity with customer analytics, behavioral targeting, click stream analytics, and email marketing. Prior experience with marketing automation technology a plus:Campaign managementMarketing databases; hosted and in-sourcedLead managementMarketing Resource ManagementReal-time analytics and decisioning

·  Experience interfacing effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to line managers

·  A track record of achieving multi-million dollar sales quotas.

·  A proven history of initiating and/or supporting a number of sales efforts by learning the prospect’s business requirements, then driving the process of developing a value added solution to meet these needs.

·  Experience in negotiating “initial engagements” and multi-phase, multi-year contracts through account business development and tactical experience in driving incremental projects/engagements that lead to long-term revenue streams.

The ability to effectively perform the initial phases of the sales process with minimal assistance and efficiently engage additional resources, as appropriate, is critical.

·  An organized leader who is willing to utilize, as appropriate, structured sales force automation, forecasting, and account relationship management tools.

·  A person of total integrity whom people at all levels will trust and respect.
