Telecom Program Manager
Eventus Group is an IT Consulting Services Company that services enterprise-sized organizations nationwide. Our client is a global organization and a leader in its industry, which include aviation, marine, and transportation.
We are actively seeking for a Telecom Program Manager:
The Program Manager is to oversee and evangelize a national Unified Communications deployment for a prestigious national company. The UC deployment will cover 28 states and more than 22,000 employees. The Program Manager will report directly to the CIO and will gain executive sponsorship to manage all aspects of the project including financial/budgeting, public relations/project marketing, technical, deployment, training, and support. As part of the Public Relations component, the position will be responsible for developing a communication plan that includes marketing the rollout and getting everyone excited about the new technology and how it will improve the way they do business, as well as communicating project progress with the executive management team and the 22,000 plus users who will be receiving the technology.
The PM will rely on Cisco/IBM professional services for the technical architecture/design and deployment, but will be lead the initiative in regards to the overall planning and design. It will be the PM’s role to challenge the technical team on the technical architecture, implementation plans, and other technical components. The PM will manage the client’s engineering staff, IP group, and voice engineering team including technical team leads and field technicians in 28 states.
This perfect candidate will have an effective balance of demonstrated technical, project/program management, and public relations expertise.
Required Experience:
* Experience as a Project or Program Manager over a large enterprise rollout from initial architecture through completion
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with C-level executives to staff
* Experience in the deployment of Cisco Unified Communications in a large, enterprise-class organization
* Experience managing vendor relationships
* PMP or other project management certification is a plus
* Cisco voice and data certs/specializations a plus.
Technical Specifications:
* Two primary nodes: Ft. Worth, TX and Topeka, KS
* Moving from TDM environment to UC
* Full UC deployment with Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Meeting Place
* Cisco integration with NEC and Avaya
* Use of Primavera for project management and tracking; may be shifting to MS Project. Currently, there is not an internal intranet or other communication platform such as Sharepoint, or the use of dashboards
