Sr. Records Management Specialist

Responsibilities include assisting a federal customer with project planning, deployment, and training and maintaining governance, support, and evergreen processes for file plan management. This position will be responsible for classifying and grouping information to assist with the creation of an intuitive file plans that will enable faster data search and retrieval. Specific duties may vary and include physical handling, labeling, shifting and sorting of files, archiving materials, responding to inquiries, collection maintenance and retrieval tasks, use of automated information systems and maintenance of metadata in the system

Skills Required:
Maintain physical files in the file room.Knowledge of processes, practices and tools of information management such as information classification and record retention practicesTrack and monitor file room activity and submit weekly and monthly reports as required.Log data electronically into a filing database.Implement records disposition activities including identification according to OST Records, Schedules and Regulations.Interact with divisional OST records officers & employees in accordance with contract requirements.Apply OST Records Retention Schedules and comply with OST and Task Order procedures and instructions.Develop and maintain a body of knowledge related to the contents of the file room in order to provide information and document management service to stakeholders. Edit and cross referencef file descriptions into a database.Provide backup support for FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) OST personnel as required, after the training process.College degree and 3 years records management experience, or a high school diploma and 4 years of records management experience.Experience with records management fundamentals, records inventory and scheduling, and scanning applications.Experience working in a business, government, library, museum or military performing duties related to records management.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Lotus Notes.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be organized and detail oriented.Ability to interact in a professional manner with the client to provide excellent customer service.
