Senior Data Management Architect--REQUIRES ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
AOC Applied Technologies is seeking a Senior Data Mangement Architect to work in Washington, DC supporting a major federal government agency. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance. Applicants without an active Top Secret clearance will not be considered.
The Senior Data Architect will play a lead role in defining and driving the enterprise information/data architecture strategy and roadmap. The Senior Data Management Architect leads defining and implementing strategies, principles and standards for data modeling, data quality and metadata management, including how data will be organized, stored, accessed and moved. The Senior Data Management Architect interacts with architecture efforts with particular focus around data warehouse, enterprise application integration, business intelligence, master data management, metadata management and analytic technologies in support of strategic directions. Defines and maintains best practice guidelines and standards for data, metadata, XML and data modeling and management. Documents technology roadmaps and the transition from the current architectural framework to target architecture of the future. Serves as advisor on future technology options, outlining risks, costs, benefits and capabilities. Collaborates with business analysts, engineers and project managers on a wide range of technology projects, including software development, package installation and infrastructure upgrades and changes.
Requirements: Must possess a detailed understanding of information/data architecture and possess experience successfully implementing data-centric applications, such as data warehouses, operational data stores, and data integration projects. Comprehensive understanding and experience in master data management best practices and ability to be a leader in their implementation. Experience in metadata management and maintenance, design and implementation of metadata driven enterprise solutions. Working knowledge of data architecture principles, terminology and data modeling techniques. Strong strategic planning capabilities. Understanding of the enterprise architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to document and present data models, strategies, standards and concepts to both business and IT audiences. Detailed understanding of Database Taxonomies, i.e, Data Warehousing / Operational Data Stores / Data Marts). Demonstrated ability to produce conceptual, logical and physical data models. Proven experience with data modeling tools and experience and in-depth knowledge of Extraction-Transformation-Loading (ETL) methodologies. Detailed understanding of relational database (Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server). Good understanding of reporting technologies (Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy). Knowledge of data classification modeling, defining business owners and developing role based access. Understanding and experience with data privacy, compliance, and security principles and standards. Demonstrated experience with EAI, SOA and web services. Active Top Secret clearance required.
Experience: Six years system architecture experience with large-scale, mission-critical databases and applications with 10-15+ years overall experience in the areas described in the requirements section. Experience working as a lead. Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
