The business analyst is responsible for liaising with the business to interpret need and insure that objectives are met with deliverables. The business analyst should have experience with a diverse range of technology and related tasks; this should include: system design, project management, software development lifecycle (SDLC), coordination of multiple development teams, IT concepts and best practices. Position Objectives: - Manage all projects in the PM Information System - Represent stakeholders throughout the SDLC - Manage to project deadlines - Focus on priorities by filtering through noise - Routinely review priorities with business contacts - Prepare detailed business requirements - Train the trainer and end user, depending on scope of effort - Generate and execute test plans - Prepare and present comprehensive training documentation - Provide guidance to support organization Skills: - Quickly evaluate information from multiple sources, resolve conflict and decompose into detailed requirements where essence of business need is captured in a coherent form. - Ability to work with technology, business experts, management and operations customers to define tactical requirements and actionable steps in order to identify necessary modifications to business applications - Ability to break down technical issues into easily digestible data points for stakeholder consumption - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Software/System Experience: Vantive, Oracle, SQL, SAP, IBM Netcool, Java, Visual Basic, HP SAS - Opsware, integration technologies - Prior business experience with network, telecommunication, and/or managed hosting service providers desired. - Background in Web Hosting, Co-location and Data Center architectures - Advanced knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint and Word - Database Modeling Position Requirements: - 5-7 years of service provider IT analyst experience - Senior BA/PM Candidate exhibits leadership, subject matter expertise and critical thinking skills in a manner that establishes them as senior member of the team. - Candidate must demonstrate expertise in following an established software development methodology, project development planning and problem resolution - Extensive project management experience - Strong communication and consensus-building skills which enable interaction with business process owners and end users - Ability to lead requirements elicitation meetings, reviews and workshops. - Ability to define, manage and update functional and design requirements.
