SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Immersa Marketing, formerly known as the The Chase Group, is a full-service, ROI-focused marketing agency specializing in event and trade show marketing and is part of the Wachovia Exhibition Partners family, one of the largest event marketing organizations in the country. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to work in our San Francisco office with 3-5 years of accounting experience. The position reports up through the Corporate Controller, located in Middleboro, Massachusetts . Although located in San Francisco, this position will have the full support of the accounting and finance team in Massachusetts .

Duties include:Assisting with preparation of year end audit workpapers for external CPA firm. Preparing monthly financial statements. Preparing the final trial balance to be reviewed by accounting manager which includes creating balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis. Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts. Updating and reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger. Preparing and posting journal entries. Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly customer invoicing functions. Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules Assisting with the purchase order and accounts payable functions. Coding vendor invoices to proper expenses in job costing system. Fielding phone calls from vendors and assisting with processing weekly check runs to vendors. Coordinating or assisting with the budget process.

Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in accounting. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact well with all members of management and accounting staff. 3 to 5 yrs of accounting experience. Some public company experience a plus. Solid understanding of GAAP. Strong project accounting skills Ability to understand automated accounting systems within a high transactional volume business (a sound understanding of data and technology systems a must). Ability to work with minimal amount of day to day supervision.
