Secondary Research Analyst
SAI Healthcare (within IMS Health) provides competitive intelligence and market analysis to pharmaceutical, biotechnology healthcare and medical device companies worldwide. We are seeking candidates to fill a Secondary Research Analyst position to support our rapidly growing consulting team.
Successful candidate will lead and perform secondary research and analysis using available and appropriate tools and resources, and must be able to work independently or participate on project teams to provide research and baseline analysis in response to requests, primarily from IMS’ CI US-based team. An excellent ability to multitask, out-of-the-box resourcefulness, and a constructive attitude are helpful in our group's rapidly changing environment. Flexibility to work on various projects is a necessity.
To be successful, your starting skills will include:
1) Strong secondary research know-how
2) Knowledge of tools and resources (print and electronic) necessary to effectively retrieve, organize, catalog, synthesize, and evaluate information in response to diverse research requests (ongoing projects, medium-term projects, and fast-turnaround ad-hoc requests)
3) Ability to manage multiple projects (centered around pharmaceutical (and related industries) products, companies, markets, and trends)
4) Experience using information sources that include:Business and industry-specific periodicalsInternetProprietary online systems such as Dialog, Nexis, Thomson, etc.Industry-specific online databases sourcesKnowledge and understanding of IMS data/databases a plus
5) Ability to synthesize information
6) Energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
This individual will work in direct contact with a large consulting staff, so team communication and leadership, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills are critical. However, this position does not include any primary information gathering, or in-person presentation of information in any forum (internal or external).
Preferred qualifications include some work experience in a corporate library or an advanced research setting. Salary commensurate with experience.
