And, simply, by being more than your typical human resources consulting practice.   Actuarial and Insurance Solutions Our Human Capital professionals work with insurance providers and self-insured organizations in virtually all aspects of insurance, financial services, and risk-related issues.  We also deliver advice and solutions related to strategy, actuarial and financial analysis, underwriting and claim operations, information systems, and data mining predictive modeling.  Property & Casualty Consultant   The Property & Casualty Consultant will provide technical and analytical support in a consulting environment.   The job functions include the following:   ·         Engagements involve reserve analyses, including Statements of Actuarial Opinion, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, new product development, strategic planning, and audit support.  ·         Responsibilities also include assistance in financial management of client engagements, project management through utilization of project management tools, ·         gathering and analysis of data, assisting in development of proposals and collateral marketing and sales materials, and knowledge management   Qualifications of the ideal candidate: ·         Exams under the Casualty Actuarial Society ·         Proficiency using computer software such as Excel, Word, Access, and VBA ·         BS in Actuarial Science or Mathematics related  field ·         2 -5 years experience as a property and casualty actuary ·         1 -3 years consulting experience ·         Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and client management skills ·         Effective listening and questioning skills ·         Strong business ethics, ability to maintain independence and objectivity in client dealings ·         Demonstrated problem solving skills Detailed exposure demonstrating competency with strong organizational skills and little supervision in the areas of: ·         Statutory/GAAP reporting, regulation, and compliance, Actuarial Standards of Practice ·         SAP, FASB, GASB and related accounting principles ·         Standard and advanced reserving methods ·         Pricing and cost allocation methods ·         Insurance/reinsurance company operations ·         Product development ·         Data sources/modeling ·         Knowledge of specialized computer applications such as "crystal ball"   Required skills of the ideal candidate: - Undergraduate degree required (BS or BA) - Ability to travel at least 10% of the time - Minimum of 2 actuarial exams - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a property and casualty actuary - Reserving methods About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
