Procurement Specialist / Manager

 

Proudfoot Consulting, a leading international management consulting firm, seeks an Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to head business review and business delivery.  The ideal candidate will be the subject matter expert, conducting comprehensive reviews of our clients' Strategic Sourcing and Procurement strategies, processes and performance.  He/she will then determine the scope, nature, and extent of potential applications of Proudfoot methodologies, which are technology agnostic.

 

The Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Specialist will use proven tools and techniques to conduct studies and assessments, interviews and statistical analyses of strategic sourcing & procurement processes and procedures to:

 

· Keep up to date with market developments with respect to strategic sourcing & procurement

· Develop, refine, and maintain current methodology tools and techniques, and using these, conduct studies and assessments, interviews and statistical analysis of the processes and procedures of prospective clients, including:

 

Conducting assessment/health checks, cost reduction, and benefit realization opportunity analysis

 

Creating opportunities to improve operational efficiencies through various disciplines:  network modeling and optimization, transportation and freight management, warehousing, planning and scheduling, and demand management

 

Reviewing existing infrastructure to identify opportunities to deliver cost effective improvement to the client organization

 

Identifying and quantify opportunities for enhancement to the client organization, including skills and training-related opportunities

 

Seeking and identifying the root causes of operation and organizational difficulties, barriers, and change hurdles, taking into account current and anticipated regulatory, policy, and strategy requirements

 

Identifying and summarizing the scope for savings, service level and efficiency improvement

 

Leverage an understanding of the partner landscape to identify potential opportunities and the cost of capital investments required to attain benefits beyond those achievable without investment

 

· Conducting the Business Review and analysis while obtaining the active involvement and support of all client staff and ensuring that all professional disciplines and courtesies are respected

· Participating in the Business Review and write-up and contribute to the development of the client presentation.

· Use and update the Business Review and Business Delivery toolbox

· Researching and recommending best practices, including the use of potential alliance partners

· Installing benefits by implementing approved changes to the client's operation as part of the project in areas, either as the individual contributor and/or manager of the responsible resources

· Maintaining subject matter expertise through relevant industry associations and self learning

· Maintaining current awareness of opportunities in supply chain management and application of opportunities across industries

 

The position requires 100% travel, Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement

 

Preference will be given to candidates with 3 – 5 years experience in the Procurement practice of a major consultancy.
