We are looking for exceptional people! We have an immediate need for a Physical Oracle DBAJob Description: This position requires strong DBA Oracle skills. This resource is critically needed to support high profile database projects. A minimum of 3 years experience of Oracle administration and implementation. Oracle 10G on AIX, Oracle Dataguard, RAC and Oracle Cluster (CRS). Perform physical database administration duties. DBA must be able provide physical database designing, installation, configuring of Oracle RDBMS software. DBA will be responsible for configuring and managing logical and physical standby databases (utilizing Oracle replication). DBA will perform database tuning and capacity planning, assisting logical DBAs with identifying and resolving SQL performance issues in the Oracle environment. DBA will be responsible for implementing and testing backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN, and possibly other third party backup and recovery software (i.e. SQL Backtrack). DBA will also perform migration and upgrades of Oracle software, and be responsible for implementing and maintaining database security, including Oracle Critical patch updates. DBA will be responsible for addressing and resolving daily customer issues perform problem analysis and resolution. DBA will implement monitoring using scripts, Tivoli, or BMC Patrol with an objective of 100% database availability. DBA must be able to speak English and participate in conference calls in a demanding customer environment. DBA will perform database changes (using problem and change management tools), during weekend and possibly off hour maintenance windows as designated by customer. Position could require participating in 24x7 on call rotation for production support of databases. The installation project to be supported is as follows: Validation: - 1x Oracle 10G R2 RAC installation on 2 node VERITAS Cluster (Symantec Storage Foundation) 3 Databases included in the installation. - Oracle 10G Client installations. DR: - 1x Oracle 10G R2 RAC installation on 1 node VERITAS Cluster (Symantec Storage Foundation) 3 Databases included in the installation. - Oracle 10G Client installations Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
